Delivering Consistency in Electronics Service Manufacturing: Spartronics Williamsport IPC Training Facility
IPC certification plays a key role in bringing value to the electronics manufacturing industry and to our customers
Formally known as the Institute of Printed Circuits, now IPC is a global association for the electronics manufacturing industry. The IPC offers certifications and technical training as an industry standard among those in the electronics industry and workforce. Dependent on experience, operators can choose from three IPC certification levels: Certified Standards Expert (CSE), a Certified IPC Trainer (CIT), or as a Certified IPC Specialist (CIS).
Certified Standards Expert (CSE)
Is a subject matter expert for their organization and can answer IPC standard related questions, provide support, and assist in interpreting the standard for their organization.
Certified IPC Trainer (CIT)
A certified IPC trainer is authorized to deliver and administer CIS or CID / CID+ training and certification examinations within their parent company.
Certified IPC Specialist (CIS)
CIS is a training modular and is appropriate for individuals that will benefit from a consistent understanding of a criteria in a standard.
At Spartronics Williamsport, we offer an in-house IPC training facility which is in compliance with our NADCAP certification. This training facility includes ten workstations accommodating a computer, soldering iron, and microscope set up. With four on staff CIT trainers, this provides Spartronics Williamsport operators’ on-site training the first two-weeks of every month and an additional week if needed.
Certifications offered, include:
- IPC-A-610
- J-STD-001
- IPC-A-600
- IPC-A-620
- IPC 7711/7721
The benefits of an in-house IPC training facility allows flexibility, on-demand training, and convenience for both our customers and our workforce. In some cases, customers will require additional trainings or different types of IPC Certifications, and these can be scheduled and implemented quickly. In addition, not outsourcing IPC training and scheduling in-house classes allows for smaller group sizes and staggering shifts placing less stress on the production floor and allowing for continuous coverage.
